This is the first weekend back to normal life here and getting back in feels a little difficult for me!!
We’re going to have lunch with some friends this morning and then I get some work done and do a puzzle (this is one I just started!).
Here are some book deals you won’t want to miss this weekend! (This is a GOOD week for book deals!)

No Ordinary Times: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II by Doris Kearns Goodwin – ebook – $3.99
I never like reading abridged versions of anything, but I made an exception in this case because the abridged version was read by Edward Herrmann (he was the grandfather on Gilmore Girls and also read the audio versions of both Unbroken And Boy in Boat). Basically, if he reads it, I want to hear it. That said, I’m almost done and I think I want to go back and listen to the full version which is 39 hours long, not 6. Obviously a LOT condensed.

Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend – audiobook – $3.99
Morrigan Crow was born on Eventide, the unluckiest day for any child to be born, and thus lived a cursed life. As he awaits his fate, he is whisked away to safety, a magical city called Nevermoor. He learns that to stay safe on Nevermoor, he must compete in four difficult trials and discover his extraordinary talents – or must leave the city and face his deadly fate. (Plus, it’s a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make Yoto cards!)

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling – audiobook – $1.99
It’s always fun to read titles that are based on Disney films, then compare what’s the same and what’s different. (Plus, it’s a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make Yoto cards!)

The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner – audiobook – $7.99
This one really sucked me in (and broke my heart)! Sisters Cassie and Zoe shot to fame as the Griffin Sisters in the early 2000s, but then disappeared from the spotlight after a sudden and unexplained split. Now, two decades later, daughter Zoë is determined to uncover the truth, forcing the three women to reckon with the past.

The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas – audiobook – $1.99
If you’ve never studied this classic, consider this your sign! Young D’Artagnan teams up with three musketeers to defend their honor, outwit Cardinal Richelieu’s bodyguards, protect the queen, and confront the very clever and dangerous Milady. And almost 24 hours of listening, you Of course get your money’s worth with this one.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain – audiobook – $1.99
Tom Sawyer made me very angry, but other than that I am very happy to have read this classic book. When a boy from a Mississippi River town embarks on a wild adventure with a runaway slave, encountering strife, false royalty, and even Tom Sawyer’s aunt… you know this is going to be the perfect adventure novel. (Plus, it’s a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make Yoto cards!)

A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond – audiobook – $4.99
You can’t go wrong with the classic film about a bear found at a train station who loves marmalade and always accidentally gets scratched. (Plus, it’s a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make Yoto cards!)

Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion Vol. 1 by Beth Brower – audiobook – $4.99
I will never stop sharing about when Emma M. Lion is on sale! And I was thrilled to see that the first book in the series included multiple audiobooks. If the physical book isn’t enough for you, the audiobook is amazing – my teenage daughter was hooked, and even my husband got in on it.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne – audiobook – $1.99
When a hunt for a sea monster leads to the capture of Captain Nemo’s secret submarine, a marine biologist and his friends are drawn into a stunning underwater adventure filled with danger, discovery, and a captain with a dark secret.

The Call of the Wild by Jack London – audiobook – $1.99
This classic adventure tells the story of Buck, a pampered dog who is suddenly forced to survive as a sled dog in the frozen Klondike. It’s intense, emotional, and deeply moving — a great choice if you want a timeless story that really sticks with you.

Die With Zero by Bill Perkins – audiobook – $4.99
This is a money book like no other. It’s been an interesting and useful way to think about how I spend my life and what I want from the money I make. It feels like one of those books that almost everyone can benefit from!

The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Secret to a Happy Life by Meik Wiking – audiobook – $4.99
That The Little Book of Hyggeset out to explore the ‘hygge’ phenomenon in Denmark – what hygge is and how you can achieve it in your life. It was written by Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, someone who knows a lot about hygge.

Henry and Beezus by Beverly Cleary – audiobook – $4.99
In our family, Beverly Cleary’s books are definitely in our top 5 (especially when it comes to audio). We’ve read many of them together, and my daughter loves reading and listening on her own. And I really like Henry Huggins. (Plus, it’s a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make Yoto cards!)

Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo – audiobook – $4.99
Ximoara Batista wants to say a lot, but not only does she feel like she’s not being heard, she also feels like she can’t say the things she wants to. He poured out all his feelings and frustrations onto the pages of a leather notebook, but couldn’t let Mami know about it and kept his thoughts to himself. When he is invited to join the slam poetry club at his school, he tries to find a way to attend without Mami knowing.
