Weekend Book Deals for January 10th

No Ordinary Times: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II by Doris Kearns Goodwin – ebook – $3.99
I never like reading abridged versions of anything, but I made an exception in this case because the abridged version was read by Edward Herrmann (he was the grandfather on Gilmore Girls and also read the audio versions of both Unbroken And Boy in Boat). Basically, if he reads it, I want to hear it. That said, I’m almost done and I think I want to go back and listen to the full version which is 39 hours long, not 6. Obviously a LOT condensed.

That The Little Book of Hyggeset out to explore the ‘hygge’ phenomenon in Denmark – what hygge is and how you can achieve it in your life. It was written by Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, someone who knows a lot about hygge.

Henry and Beezus by Beverly Cleary – audiobook – $4.99
In our family, Beverly Cleary’s books are definitely in our top 5 (especially when it comes to audio). We’ve read many of them together, and my daughter loves reading and listening on her own. And I really like Henry Huggins. (Plus, it’s a Libro.FM deal so you can use it to make Yoto cards!)
