4 Books I’m Reading Right Now

We are back from a quick trip to Idaho where we spent a few days swimming, doing puzzles, playing games and hiking – it was the perfect start to summer and now we are back to our full summer schedule and routine!

My biggest goal this summer is to catch up on my Goodreads goal – I’m currently about 19 books behind!

Here’s what I’m reading currently:

MinimalistMinimalist

Minimalist by Shira Gill
I read it a year ago (in fact, it’s in this year’s Summer Reading Guide!) but I’m rereading it because I’m in major organizing and cleaning mode, plus reading it is one of the merit badges for the Proper Mountain Women’s Club this session!

Change of Plans by Sarah Dessen
I LOVED Sarah Dessen about 18 years ago and have read every book she has written. Now she has a new novel (it’s been a while!) and it made me feel 21 again reading one of her summer beach novels.

Every Version of You by Natalie Messier
I really like time travel/time loop books and this book about a woman restarting her life after a car accident appealed to me. While we were on vacation this week, I sat in the hotel lobby while it was raining outside and got through the first quarter! It’s been fun so far.

Essential: The Secret to a Life of Deep Connection and Purpose by Jennifer Breheny Wallace
I really liked the book It’s Never Enough: When Achievement Cultures Become Toxic – and What We Can Do About It a few years, so when a reader mentioned he had a new book out, I immediately picked it up and listened to the audio on my morning walk.

And this is what my team is reading right now!

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune
I really liked Every Summer After, but Meet Me at the Lake was a flop so it wasn’t on my radar until Janssen said he liked this one. I’m literally only a few chapters into this one and I’m enjoying it so far. Childhood best friends, Frankie and George, find themselves on Frankie’s honeymoon – minus Frankie’s groom – trying to mend their on-again, off-again friendship for decades.

Jennifer

Secret Secret by Dan Brown
My husband and I started reading this book together last weekend when we had to go to St. Louis. Louis to attend my brother-in-law’s graduation. We read Dan Brown novels together on our honeymoon, so it felt a little nostalgic because we were also celebrating our fourteenth wedding anniversary. This book has all the characteristics of mystery and intrigue of a Dan Brown novel and follows symbologist Robert Langdon throughout Prague as he solves the latest mystery involving New Romantic interest Katherine Solomon and her work in noetic science.

Kelsey

The Only One Left by Riley Sager
The twists and turns in this one are wild and continue until the end! In a small coastal Maine town, Lenora Hope is accused of murdering her family 60 years ago, although she has always maintained her innocence. Now elderly, mute, and confined to a wheelchair after several strokes, he begins communicating with his home health aide, Kit, via typewriter…and Kit quickly realizes that there may be more to this story than anyone knows. I listened to this one on audio, and it was amazing!

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
