I can’t believe we are in February! It’s been a fun month at our house with Valentine’s Day and two birthdays as well as a bit of a winter escape trip.
I have also really FLYED Rose Code after we do it Briar Club for the Everyday Reading Book Club last month.
Here are some other great books on sale this weekend:

Grace & Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon by Matthew Norman – ebook – $1.99
I know Christmas has passed, but this is a steep price! When a sentimental advertising creative and an honest bar owner start watching holiday movies together, they find unexpected comfort (and perhaps love) in shared sadness and second chances. This one is about healing, hope, and the magic of starting over. (This one does have some language, but no spice.)

Finlay Donovan Kills It by Elle Cosimano – e-book – $1.99
I received tons of recommendations for this book before I read it! It’s about a suburban mother who, while going through a messy divorce, is mistaken for a hit man. He wouldn’t kill someone. . . . but the money would really help get rid of her manipulative ex-husband. Laugh out loud funny and a little funny! And I managed to finish the sequel, which was just as fun!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – ebook – $2.99
When I read this over a decade ago I gave it a 10/10, no questions asked. This book follows a young girl in Nazi Germany who finds comfort (and a bit of rebellion) by stealing books and sharing their stories. Narrated by Death, it is a haunting and beautiful reminder of the power of words. I reread the last few lines over and over again to really understand the ending.

free water by Amina Luqman-Dawson – e-book – $1.99
This Newbery Award-winning middle grade novel tells the gripping story of Homer and his younger sister Ada, who escape from a plantation and discover a hidden community of freedom. This is an inspiring story about survival, family, and fighting for what is right.
(Plus, audiobooks are also on sale – and can be made into Yoto cards!)

Sparrow Shield by Devney Perry – audiobook – $5.99
This is one of the fantasy-romance books everywhere nowadays: the slow-paced, high-stakes story of Princess Odessa, whose life changes completely when she becomes engaged to Prince Zavier and is thrown into a world of ancient magic, monsters and menacing war. If you like enemies-to-lovers tension and fierce heroines wielding their own powers, this one is a big favorite in the fantasy community.

Statistically Speaking by Debbie Johnson – audiobook – $3.99
History teacher Gemma loves facts, statistics and solid order. Maybe because his past contradicts that. He thought about the baby he gave up at 16 every day and even more so now that “Baby” might be his new student. This one surprised me with how much I enjoyed it!

Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell – audiobook – $3.99
This is one of my favorite reads of 2024! I REALLY love Rainbow Rowell and this one really works for me. Her books are generally not fast-paced but are richly told with great character development and riveting romance and this one was one where I had to keep stopping to take it all in. I read the audiobook in a day or two and I wish it was twice as long!

Beverly Cleary Audio Collection by Beverly Cleary – audiobook – $7.99
This collection includes six of Beverly Cleary’s beloved books, including one of my personal favorites, sock. My girls have listened to this series on repeat for five years straight, and Bart and I enjoy it as much as they do. With over 16 hours of listening, this is a fantastic audio collection that is well worth the money.
