This is a great summer to read for Ani – he told me the other day, “I spent 3 hours reading this afternoon!” And frankly, I am a little jealous of all the time reading it!
He just finished sixth grade and will enter the seventh grade this fall.
Here are some of the books that he enjoyed new -this new:

Ani approved: Books to read grade 6

Penguin Mr. Popper by Richard and Florence Atwater 160 pages
I will read this one as a child, but cannot remember anything about it except that he gets penguins by post. Now I have read it several times for my girls and are very pleasant to watch the story that is played when none of us know how the results are.
What Ani said: I read Mr. Penguin Mr. Popper is right after reading two historical fiction books that are quite serious and I just want something fun and not so intense. This book is very funny and lightweight and I read it in just a few days. It was very unique and I really enjoyed it.

Scourge by Jennifer A. Nielsen
368 pages
We are a big fan of Jennifer Nielsen in our house, one of our favorites is the book Fake Prince. He also did a great historical fiction (which Ani also liked!). But in this non-magical fantasy adventure, Ani Mells was sent to Quarantine Island after being declared positive of the deadly outbreak, he and his best friend reveal the dark secrets of disease … and the truth that can change everything.
What Ani said: I listened Specter In the audible and invested in it so I listened to it in one day. It gives me a big satisfaction to find out who the bad person is and what really happened before the main character (something that I usually bad!) And I am very happy with the whole book.

Half magic by Edward excited
224 pages
This is one of my favorite books to grow and I read it many times. I really read it for my girls many years ago but only Ella really remembered it and after a few hits that did not exist, it felt very good to read something I knew I would like. We read it again together only this year and everyone enjoyed it! I thought of this book all the time, even after years.
What Ani said: My mother read this book to us, not the old one, but I could hardly remember it at all and although it would be fun to read again. I enjoy as much or more for the second time. It is very smart and entertaining, letting you look into the minds of the four children and can go on an adventure with them. I read all books in two days.

47 people you will meet in high school by Kristin Mahoney
304 pagesS
I think the premise of this book is very sweet, especially when girls enter the wild world of high school. It is told through a letter from a younger sister to his younger sister and sharing an honest and funny view to the next year – from a new classmate who is mysterious to find out who you are. This is the perfect reading for anyone who feels nervous (or curious) about what is in the sixth grade.
What Ani said: This book was written in a way that I thought I had never seen before and was very fun especially because I went to secondary school next year. The whole story is very sweet with his sister, his friends, his parents, and that only has a great feeling.
